Was it luck?

Was it just a lot of dumb luck? Luck that I was in the right place at the right time. Luck that I made stupid comments that distanced me from certain parties and into another? What ever it was I’m really fucking stoked it happened. When I say it happened, I’m talking about Lipsmack. It was almost a year ago that we left on our first trip the Philippines to film. (A bucket list destination I had for a long time). Today I’m sitting on another plane flight to Texas after a consecutive 6 trips to Shredtown. But this trip is different. Lipsmack is officially done and the premiere is set. Theres no worries about weather or excitement to see what new things Shredtown has built.

I’ve wanted this day to come for quite some time. Wanted to finish Lipsmack but now I’m lost with out it. I have to branch out again and work on new projects with riders that I have neglected while filming for Lipsmack. The slingshot team became my very unfunctional family. I gained life long friends, traveled the world with them and experienced it all for the first time with them. I hated them so fucking much at points but it never lasted. I think your really not friends with someone till you really have a good argument or fight. As girly as it sounds, those rough situations either break you or make you. And I can tell you there were some rough patches.

I really have no idea whats going to happen now. Everything that has happened was so unplanned and really just dumb luck. 2012 is already shaping up as another crazy year. Plane tickets are being booked and plans are being made. I want to start another movie as soon as possible. I feel so lost without a solid focus now. Web videos are never going to fill that void again. Once you see how awesome you can make something with time and extreme effort. My girlfriend is going to hate for me it but Lipsmack was only the beginning. I need to make another movie right now. Anyone can make one movie but making another movie the following year thats saying something.

All I know is I am pretty fucking lucky. Lucky to wake up and do exactly what I love. As much as I hate it at times, deep down I fucking love every minute of it. Looking back at it all now I want to be right back in it. I want to hate it all over again.

Its going to be a wild ride friends. Hope you can all come along for it.

2012 New Years Resolutions…

I dont know if New Year’s resolutions are suppose to be kept private or not but this blog is my online journal that I look back on from time to time. So I dont know a better place to post them, for the world to see and hopefully hold me to it. 2011 was the most insane unpredictable year of my life. I took over the online editor position at Alliance at the beginning of the year. Shortly after we began filming for Lipsmack. I have traveled all over the world and met so many awesome people. I reached Platinum medallion on Delta (sorry really stoked on this…). I got to go on a all expense payed surf trip to Nicaragua. I was able to grow friendships to what I think are going to be life long bonds. Its scary too think that 2012 might not be as good. So I thought I would come up with a real list of goals for 2012 that could help me make 2012 even better then 2011.

2012 Resolutions

  • To Listen more, Speak less. Accept ideas better and communicate in an understanding way.
  • To be the best possible father to my daughter Rylee.
  • To be a better boyfriend.
  • See the positives in people rather than the negatives.
  • Take criticism better. Not throw up walls as fast.
  • Spend more time focused on learning about everything. Filming,Editing,Life, Etc.
  • Read more. Read everything and anything that interest me.
  • To push myself beyond my comfort zone.
  • To approach and talk to people I may not know more.
  • To say hello to people I have met.
  • To create something with Lipsmack that will captivate an audience and leave a lasting impression.
  • To work harder and pursue every lead.
  • To never stop evolving, far beyond any goal or potential.

Do everything in this above list Patrick and 2012 will be far more amazing then 2011.

12/27 Lipsmack Update

Things you need to know now!

  • We will be dropping a new Teaser very soon of a particular rider.
  • I have a pretty good idea of the layout of the video.
  • Music is coming together. We are gonna have some awesome stuff.
  • Ill be traveling to Portland to film the intro very soon.
  • The movie is scheduled to premiere in May 2012.
  • Shredtown just got a system 2.0….
  • Jeff Mckee is back on the water shredding.
  • We have filmed a ton already but we have a ton more to do.
  • I have all the footage shot up to this point logged.
  • We have filmed on 13 different unique rails so far. Most of them never before seen or thought of. We have more coming.
  • Its still warm enough in Florida to ride no wetsuit…
  • We will be dropping more teasers and a official trailer this spring.
  • This movie is going to either offend you or make you wanna travel, ride, party, party and or ride.
  • 2012 IS THE YEAR OF LIPSMACK!
